Rangamati

It is arguably one of the most picturesque tourist destinations in Bangladesh, ringed by numerous hills and situated right on the sparkling waters of Kaptai Lake. The colorful lifestyle and culture of the indigenous communities reveals signifies their inherent love or nature and their intimate bond with the hills, forests and rivers.

 Rangamati's majestic natural beauty is most attractively manifested in the rainy season - trees become greener, waterfalls are in full flow, the river Karnaphuli is full to the brim. Rangamati includes the following places or interest for the tourists:
 The man-made Kaptai lake, spreading over 680 sq km of crystal-clear water was formed by damming the Karnaphuli river, and has a picturesque hinterland of large hills and panoramic forests. A cruise on the calm waters of the lake can be a memorable experience. The Chakma King's Palace is worth a visit.
Among other places of interest, Rajbon Bihara Pagoda located on a hilltop, attracts a large number of devotees who come for the religious occasion known as "Kathin Chivar Dan".

Pedatingting. 5 km from Rangamati town at the mouth of the Shuvolong Channel, is an enchanting island resort located in the middle of the magnificent Kaptai Lake; with a beach frontage all around. 
The restaurant is clean and quiet, with an adjacent leisure park where tourists may enjoy the blue waters of the lake and the lush green of the hills. The restaurant has some delicious tribal-style dishes to offer. While visiting Rangamati, tourists may also go shopping at the Kalpataru Shilpaniketan, an ivory handicrafts centre in the town.

Manikganj: Baliati Jomidar Bari

 It is one of  historical place in bangledesh. It look so nice. It is too near from the Dhaka town, Baliati Zomidar Bari is located at the Saturia Upozila of Manikganj district. Name of the village is Baliati. This archaeological building is about 200 years of old. A river named Gazikhali.  which is demised interim of the time, flowed at the northern side of the palace.

The whole premise is a huge one (approximately 16000 square meter). There are possibly 200 rooms available inside the premise. Back side of the palace has a pond having four ghats. Other side of the pond has a series of sanitary lavatory. Original name was Baliati, but after converting into English, then name transgressed into Baliati. This Jamidar family helped in education sector greatly. Dhaka Jogonnath University was established by them as well as the Jogonnath Hall of Dhaka University.

Where to Stay:
You can go there and come back within the same day. So accommodation is not mandatory. There is a picnic spot named Nahar Garden near the Jomidar Bari. Possibly they have an accommodation facility .

তেওতা জমিদার বাড়ী

বাংলাদেশের পুরাকীর্তি স্থাপনার মধ্যে মানিকগঞ্জের তেওতা জমিদার বাড়ী ইতিহাস অন্যতম। এর বাড়ির ঐতিহাসিক নির্দর্শন এখন শুধু কালের সাক্ষী হয়ে দাঁড়িয়ে আছে। শিবালয় উপজেলার যমুনা নদীর কূলঘেঁষা সবুজ-শ্যামল গাছপালায় ঢাকা তেওতা গ্রামটিকে ইতিহাসের পাতায় স্থান করে দিয়েছে জমিদার শ্যামশংকর রায়ের প্রতিষ্ঠিত নবরত্ন মঠটি। অনেকদূর থেকেই দেখা যেত শ্বেতশুভ্র নবরত্ন মঠ। এক সময়ে জমিদারের বাড়ির আঙিনার এই মঠকে ঘিরে দোলপূজা আর দুর্গাপূজার রঙিন উৎসব পালিত হতো। 
মানিকগঞ্জের শিবালয় উপজেলার এই তেওতা গ্রামটি আরও বিশিষ্ট হয়ে উঠেছে আমাদের জাতীয় কবি নজরুল ইসলাম ও তার স্ত্রী প্রমীলার স্মৃতি জড়িয়ে থাকায়। তেওতা গ্রামের মেয়ে প্রমীলা। জমিদারবাড়ী পাশেই বসন্তকুমার সেন আর গিরিবালা সেন দম্পতির মেয়ে আশালতা সেন বা প্রমীলা নজরুল। এর ডাক নাম দুলি। ছন্নছাড়া, ভবঘুরে নজরুল কয়েক দফায় এসেছিলেন এই গ্রামে। যমুনার ছোঁয়ায় গড়ে ওঠা সবুজ শ্যামল পাখিডাকা তেওতা গ্রামে ছুটে বেরিয়েছেন। গান, কবিতা আর অট্টহাসিতে পুরো গ্রামের মানুষকে আনন্দে মাতিয়েছেন। কখন ও বা জমিদার বাড়ির শান বাঁধানো পুকুর ঘাটে রাতের বেলায় করুণ সুরে বাঁশি বাজিয়ে বিমোহিত করেছে রাতজাগা গ্রামের মানুষকে।

জমিদার কিরণশঙ্কর রায়ের আমন্ত্রনে একবার নজরুল তার অতিথি হয়ে আসেন। আর সে সময়ই নজরুল এবং প্রমীলার দেখা হয়েছিল। জমিদারবাড়ীর পাশের বাড়ি বসন্তকুমারের মেয়ে দুলি (প্রমীলা) ছিলেন তখনকার জমিদার কিরণ শঙ্কর রায়ের স্নেহধন্য। বেড়াতে এসে নজরুল জমিদারবাড়ীতে প্রতি রাতেই গান-বাজনার আসর বসাতেন। আর সেখানে একমাত্র গায়ক ছিলেন নজরুল। দুলি তখন মাত্র কয়েক বছরের বালিকা। নজরুল গানের ফাঁকে ফাঁকে পান খেতেন। আর দুলির দায়িত্ব ছিল তার হাতে পান তুলে দেয়া। হয়তো এর মাধ্যমেই নজরুল প্রমীলার পরিচয় আরো ঘনিষ্ঠ হতে থাকে।
বিয়ের পর তেওতার জমিদার কিরণ শঙ্কর রায়ের আমন্ত্রণে নজরুল নববধূকে নিয়ে আবার তেওতায় আসেন। প্রায় দুই সপ্তাহ থাকার সময় জমিদারবাড়ীতে নজরুলের গান ও কবিতার আসর বসতো। দর্শকের আসনে জমিদার পরিবারের পাশে প্রমীলাও থাকতো। আর নজরুল যখন ‘‘তুমি সুন্দর তাই চেয়ে থাকি প্রিয় সেকি মোর অপরাধ.... অথবা, মোর প্রিয়া হবে এসো রাণী দেব খোঁপায় তারার ফুল. গান গাইতেন তখন লজ্জায় রক্তিম হতেন প্রমীলা।

কিভাবে যাওয়া যায়:
ঢাকা থেকে বাসে আরিচা ঘাট এসে নামতে হবে। এরপর সি এন জি অথবা রিক্সা যোগে তেওতা যেতে হবে।এছাড়া নদী পথেও আসা যাবে। এজন্য নৌকায় আরিচাঘাটে এসে নামতে হবে। যমুনা নদী দিয়ে বাংলাদেশের যেকোন পয়েন্টে থেকে তেওতা জমিদারবাড়ী আসা যাবে।

জাতীয় সংসদ ভবন

বাংলাদেশের জাতীয় সংসদের প্রধান ভবন। এটি ঢাকার শেরে-বাংলা নগর এলাকায় অবস্থিত। প্রখ্যাত মার্কিন স্থপতি লুই কান এটির মূল স্থপতি।

অবস্থান

ঢাকার শের-এ-বাংলা নগরে অবস্থিত জাতীয় সংসদ কমপ্লেক্সকে ঘিরে রয়েছে চারটি প্রধান সড়ক:

• উত্তর দিকে লেক রোড;
• পূর্ব দিকে রোকেয়া সরণী;
• দক্ষিণ দিকে মানিক মিয়া এভিনিউ এবং
• পশ্চিম দিকে মিরপুর রোড।

তৎকালীন পাকিস্তান সরকার পূর্ব পাকিস্তান (বর্তমান বাংলাদেশ) ও পশ্চিম পাকিস্তানের (বর্তমান পাকিস্তান) জন্য আইনসভার জন্য জাতীয় সংসদ ভবনের নির্মাণ শুরু হয় ১৯৬১ সালে। ১৯৮২ সালের ২৮শে জানুয়ারি নির্মাণ কাজ সম্পন্ন হওয়ার পর একই বছরের ১৫ই ফেব্রুয়ারি বাংলাদেশের দ্বিতীয় সংসদের অষ্টম (এবং শেষ) অধিবেশনে প্রথম সংসদ ভবন ব্যবহৃত হয়। তখন থেকেই আইন প্রণয়ন এবং সরকারি কর্মকাণ্ড পরিচালনার মূল কেন্দ্র হিসাবে এই ভবন ব্যবহার হয়ে আসছে।
